    Since the debut of the first Oliver Peoples collection in 1987, the same passion for the product, details, and finest materials has endured. Each frame is handcrafted in a dedicated factory, with careful attention to detail.

    First the frame front is carved from a single piece of acetate that was custom created exclusively for the brand.

    Careful attention is paid to the fit and balance of the frame during the design process. In production the frame front is pressed to create a bend for the face curve.

    The nosepads are shaved until the perfect, most comfortable fit is achieved.

    The functional pins and plaques provide strength and durability to the frame. Each one is hand inserted.

    At the temple tip, the discreet Oliver Peoples logo filigree plaque in hand inlaid, covered in resin, and then polished by hand.

    The custom Oliver Peoples logo engraved corewire reinforces the integrity of the frame. Utilizing state of the art machinery, the corewires are injected into the acetate temple.

    A tumbling process lasting four days polishes the surface of the raw acetate material through continuous motion turning the frames with pieces of wood and paste.

    The frames are then assembled with the temples and hand buffed until perfectly polished.

    The logo, frame name, and details are engraved onto the temple with a laser and then hand filled with ink.

    Lenses are mounted and the frame is carefully adjusted, referring back to the original design drawing.

    The final frames are ready to be worn.

    Each frame is meticulously handcrafted in a dedicated factory following a process that combines both technological advancements and the human touch. Throughout the production phases the artisans who sculpt the material into the final product reference the original design drawing ensuring its integrity. Disregarding conventional processes, each step is carried out despite the length of time required.     CUSTOM ACETATE

    We work closely with our acetate manufacturers to create beautiful custom hues that are both wearable and flattering and take inspiration from organic, natural colors. Shades of tortoises have become iconic to the brand as well as seasonal colors inspired by fashion trends.

    FILIGREE

    Delicate filigree patterns are used, paying homage to vintage details that continue to provide inspiration.

    CUSTOM METAL FINISHES

    Custom shades of metal finishes are inspired by the first collections which included variations of metal tones such as antique gold and pewter. Titanium and beta-titanium combine lightweight comfort and durability for long lasting wear.

    ATTENTION TO DETAIL

    From the discreet logo plaque inlaid at the temple tip to the filigreed corewire, subtle details are distinctive to the brand and recognizable to the discerning consumer.
